CPD
Built Environment Strategies for a Water-Scarce World
$25.00
Description
This webinar, chaired by CIOB’s own Head of Environmental Sustainability Amanda Williams, explores practical strategies for optimising water use on site, with a particular focus on the critical role of smart shut-off valves. Our expert speakers discuss how these technologies, in line with emerging best practices such as the recently published Joint Code of Practice (JCOP) guidelines, can significantly reduce water waste, prevent costly damage from leaks, and contribute to a more sustainable built environment. They also give real-world examples of how smart shut-off valves integrate with broader water management systems, enabling real-time monitoring, automated alerts, and proactive leak mitigation.
Critically, our speakers demonstrate how the implementation of these systems can contribute towards achieving multiple BREEAM water credits. The webinar also gives an introduction to the UK Water Efficiency Strategy to 2030, drawing particular attention to the opportunities the construction industry has, and the action it will need to take to support the vision of a UK where all people, homes and organisations are water efficient.
This session offers valuable insights for construction professionals seeking to improve water efficiency, reduce risk, enhance project outcomes, and achieve their sustainability goals.
