Description

Decarbonisation through removal of reliance on natural gas has been a hot topic for years, but what does the data say, and what have we learned so far? This CPD, delivered by CIOB Australia, starts with an over arching view of the data and policy at a macro level, focusing on residential emissions, before taking a deep dive into specific opportunities and challenges when retrofitting existing buildings to decarbonise.

Speakers:

Michael Ambrose – Energy Business Unit, CSIRO

Michael is a principal research scientist in CSIRO’s Energy Business Unit. He leads projects for industry and the Australian government, involving residential building energy efficiency and is the team leader of CSIRO’s Housing Stock team.

Simon Witts – Director, VA Sciences

Simon has over 37 years of experience in master planning, sustainable design, and project management for complex building services, with a focus on systems design in healthcare, laboratories, and education.

Moderator: Sian Wilmott – Sustainable Design Leader, Hassell

Sian is a Sustainable Design Leader at global design firm Hassell, with 15+ years’ experience delivering high-performance, sustainable communities across healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and master planned projects.

This CPD is a recording of a live presentation and occasionally the sound quality isn’t as good we’d like.  Please note that there is the option to turn on closed captions using the ‘CC’ button in the video player if required.
