Building Safety Act Workshop – Full Day
$435.00
Overview of the Building Safety Act Workshop
Expert led. Practical. Designed for those who carry responsibility.
This full day CIOB course provides a clear, authoritative and practical understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022, aimed at professionals who need confidence in fulfilling their responsibilities under the new building safety regime.
While many courses offer an overview of the legislation, this programme is focused on depth, quality and real world application. It is delivered by experienced industry practitioners with direct operational understanding of how the Act is being implemented on live projects, and how duty holders are expected to demonstrate compliance in practice.
The value of this course lies in the expertise of our trainers and the insight they bring, not simply in covering the content of the legislation. Drawing on firsthand experience across design, construction, delivery and regulatory engagement, they provide clarity on how the Act affects day to day decision making and project delivery—and where organisations and individuals are most at risk.
Delegates benefit from:
• Practical interpretation of duty holder responsibilities
• Insight into what “compliance” looks like in reality
• Understanding of how building regulations apply
• Lessons learned from live operational scenarios
This is training designed to reduce uncertainty, avoid costly mistakes and support defensible decision making, not just to meet CPD requirements.
The course provides practical guidance on:
• The purpose, structure and scope of the Building Safety Act and secondary legislation
• Duty holder roles, responsibilities and liabilities, including client, principal contractor, principal designer, contractors and designers
• The Gateway process and its impact on planning, approvals, programme and procurement
• Accountable persons, higher risk buildings and managing the golden thread of information
• Competence requirements and evidencing compliance
• How the Building Safety Regulator operates and what this means in practice
This course reflects the CIOB’s delivery focused perspective, grounded in buildability, risk management and professional accountability. It is particularly valuable for those whose roles expose them to legal, commercial and reputational risk under the Act.
Please note: Content covered in “Principal Contractor and Legal Duties” Day 1 – is very similar to content covered in the Building Safety Act Half Day Workshop and Building Safety Act Full Day Workshop.
