Objectives & Assessment

By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:

  • Analyse building conditions to accurately identify issues such as rising damp, DPC failure, condensation, cold bridging, timber decay, wet rot, dry rot, and external defects.
  • Apply a structured, professional survey approach to assess penetrating damp, building defects, hygroscopic salt contamination, and interpret moisture meter readings effectively.
  • Evaluate and produce clear, evidence-based survey reports that justify diagnoses and recommend appropriate remedial actions.

Suitability

Damp training is primarily designed for property and housing professionals, building surveyors, and tradespeople who need to diagnose, manage, and treat moisture risks, dampness, and mould in residential properties.
