Artificial Intelligence offers a plethora of opportunities in the built environment, revolutionising designing, constructing, operating, and reusing buildings and infrastructure. Dave Philp FCIOB, Chair of the CIOB’s Digital and Innovation Advisory Panel, begins this CPD with an introduction to the CIOB AI Playbook, before handing over to Dr Ivan Fung.

Dr Fung is currently a Professor of Construction Safety Automation at Southwest Petroleum University in Chengdu and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Education Convergence.  With vast experience hosting AI events, Dr Fung showcases how an AI-powered Digital Human can enhance workplace safety by combining real-time visual interpretation, conversational interaction, and regulatory intelligence. He demonstrates practical applications of this technology in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and supporting compliance with OSH standards in construction and industrial environments.
