With its fragmented supply chains, opaque procurement processes and high demand for migrant labour, the construction sector faces a unique set of challenges in tackling human rights abuses.
In recognition of this issue, CIOB has produced a short video on modern slavery in construction, produced the Modern Slavery: The Dark Side of Construction report, and a separate report called Building A Fairer System: tackling modern slavery in construction supply chains which was launched in the houses of parliament. A best practice toolkit to help the construction industry tackle modern slavery can be downloaded for free at http://stronger2gether.org/construction/.
