The Building Safety Act has had a transformative impact on building and fire safety in the construction industry. Its impact has been far reaching, including the formation of new roles and responsibilities, enforcement through the Building Safety Regulator and enhanced competency requirements. Chair of CIOB’s Quality Implementation Group and CIOB Past President Paul Nash is actively engaged in raising awareness of key issues affecting the construction sector and was recently appointed to the Building Advisory Committee that advises the Building Safety Regulator on the safety and standards of buildings.
