Heritage Restoration – The SPAB Approach to Conservation

In this presentation Malcolm Slocombe MA FSA IHBC, Director of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), covers the importance of using the correct procedures when conserving heritage properties. This particular project, known as the SPAB’s Old House Project, involves the repair and re-use of a Grade II listed building that has lain empty for 50 years. The Old House Project will be combined, this summer, with a large-scale working party for volunteers at Boxley Abbey.

CIOB Conservation Conference

New ideas for tough times

The theme of this year's annual conference is balancing conservation needs against rising costs. It is ideal for professionals involved in historic or traditional buildings as well as homeowners who are embarking on their own project.

We have drawn together leading experts from the UK and Europe who will give delegates the inside track on how these projects were successfully delivered and how they can apply what was learned to their own decision making.
