How poor construction quality can impact flood resilience
£15.00
Description
As the reality of climate change hits us harder and faster than previously expected there is a greater need to design for exceedance, i.e. to design our public realm in such a way as to allow flood waters to safely pass through new developments without entering properties. These designs are often integrated with drainage and SuDs designs. In this webinar, The CIOB was joined by 2 experts from Mott Macdonald, Fiona Barbour FICE and Pablo Souto. They outline some of the principles of these designs based on approaches used in England and give examples where the effectiveness of the design is lessened due to poor construction quality.

CIOB Conservation Conference
New ideas for tough times
The theme of this year's annual conference is balancing conservation needs against rising costs. It is ideal for professionals involved in historic or traditional buildings as well as homeowners who are embarking on their own project.
We have drawn together leading experts from the UK and Europe who will give delegates the inside track on how these projects were successfully delivered and how they can apply what was learned to their own decision making.
