Late payments and long contractual payment terms are causing major problems for businesses across the UK economy. As part of the government’s strategy to tackle this challenge, the Office of the Small Business Commissioner recently launched the Fair Payment Code, that awards businesses that pay their suppliers fairly and quickly. CIOB’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs, David Barnes, facilitates this webinar and we are joined by Liz Barclay, UK Small Business Commissioner at the time of the Code’s launch, and Jacqueline Moore, Policy and Implementation Lead, at the office of the UK Small Business Commissioner. In the webinar, Jacqueline and Liz give an overview of the Code, outline the application process and the support available to firms going through that process, and talk about the potential benefits for businesses in the construction sector that join the Code.
