Overview

This course covers the fundamentals of fire safety and the underpinning knowledge that is required for duty holders and responsible persons to manage fire safety during construction and after handover in buildings, with context related to the phase 2 report of the Grenfell Inquiry.

Fire Safety Fundamentals teaches foundations in fire safety, fire safety during construction, fire safety in buildings and how responsible persons can ensure a positive fire safety culture during construction and after transition to management, preparing learners for CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety in Construction and giving attendees the ability to better demonstrate fire safety competence within your organisation and enhancing attendees’ abilities to deal with fire scenarios.

The course follows a blended learning approach, with preparatory e‑learning supported by live webinars focused on discussion and practical application.

Completing this course will give you the necessary information and expertise to begin the CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety in Construction.

Suitability

This course is aimed at construction professionals who are responsible for the management of fire safety during the construction phase of the build and those responsible for fire safety in low to medium risk workplaces (such as an office), including Health and Safety managers, Facilities Managers and health and safety representatives within businesses.
